Steps in Creating and Posting a New SPA
Position:
1.Determine
your business need.
• Define tasks
• Identify organizational changes
• Consult with HR comp analyst
2.
Review competency profiles: roles and required
competencies (see below) for career band and
level which matches your business need.
3.
Consult market rates and ranges.
4.
Request funding from Department Head
5.
Select position description form on-line and
provide job specifics. Competency level of
position must match available funding and
justifiable business need..
6.
If the position description form for the
position you plan to create is not found
on-line, please contact your analyst. Some
career bands and levels are restricted.
7.
Prepare BREMP (Budget
Request to Establish or Modify an SPA Position:
see forms)
8.
Forward position description, including ADA
checklist and updated organizational chart, with
BREMP to Department Head.
9.
After approval by VC, the Budget Office or
Sponsored Programs will forward to HR.
10. After position's career band and competency
level is approved by the HR analyst, you will be
sent the recruitment form to initiate posting. |
