The Operations and Skilled Trades Job Family at UNC Charlotte includes jobs assigned to two branches: the Facility Maintenance Branch and the Vehicle/Equipment Operation Branch.  The Facility Maintenance Branch includes a variety of jobs that perform tasks ranging from routine and unskilled to highly skilled, including Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Welding (Mechanical Trades Career Band); Cabinetmaking, Carpentry, Locksmithing, Masonry, Painting, Plastering, and Roofing (Building Trades Career Band).   The third band is a supervisory band.   The Vehicle/Equipment Operation Branch is represented currently by only one band at UNC Charlotte: the Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician career band.  For more general information about this job family and these four career bands, please view this PowerPoint presentation: Career Banding at UNC Charlotte:  Operations and Skilled Trades.
