Career
Banding Pay Ranges |
|
Administrative
Support positions are Career Banded at UNC Charlotte!
Effective October 1, 2006, these
positions moved from the traditional, graded,
classification system to the new Career Banding
system. Communications will soon be distributed
to notify supervisors of approved Career Band
and Competency Ranges of the positions/employees
whom they supervise. |
Employees
for whom Human Resources did not receive an initial
PCAC form by August 4th will
be placed at a competency level within the band
matching the current classification title. In
other words, because the grade levels and current
classification titles will be abolished on the
implementation date (October 1st), Human
Resources will “cross walk” the employees
into a competency range based on the job description.
These employees for whom we have no
PCAC on file will not be able to be included in
recommendations for career progression increases,
because career-banding salary changes are dependent
upon the supervisor’s documented input on
an employee’s actual range of functional
competency being demonstrated. Even
if an employee is “below market” based
on the cross walk, HR cannot assume that a career
progression increase is justified without the
PCAC form. The assessment rating with the documentation
provided in Section IV (the competency assessment)
validates that an employee has been properly placed
within a band and range. |
How
do I complete the PCAC form?

Employee Evaluation and Assessment, before

it.
How
much of the PCAC form do I complete at this

all four columns before submitting it to Human
